Minister: Russia exports $1 bln car assembly kits, parts in Jan–Jul

MOSCOW, Sep 1 (PRIME) -- Russia exported U.S. $1 billion worth of car assembly kits and car component parts in January–July, Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said on Friday after a lecture at a Moscow school.

“This year our exports of car aggregate units reached $1 billion. This is the first time ever that we have received such a result not from sales of assembled cars, but from sales of assembly kits and component parts. This is a result as of the end of July,” he told reporters.

The government now aims at increasing output of assembly kits and component parts of companies that have launched their assembly production in Russia. It is now negotiating special investment contracts with Hyundai and Yamaha, he said.
